Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow! I can't believe it is almost October. The time is flying and I am so grateful for that! Over
the past month I have stayed busy with a few trips to see friends and family. At the end of August, it was back up to Jax for a framewalk with our builder. The house is really coming together and should be complete next month!
Over Labor Day weekend I went down to Tampa to visit my friend Liz who recently got engaged. We had fun boating and celebrating their engagement! I came back to Orlando on Sunday because I had a wedding that afternoon.
The following weekend it was an impromptu trip down to Miami to visit my sister and brother-in-law.
We had a great time watching football on Saturday and then had a great dinner at Smith and Wollensky for a
special restaurant week thing that Miami was running.

This past weekend we ventured to Gainesville for the UF vs. Tennessee game! It was a great time! We tailgated and made hot dogs! The game was great and it was definitely nice being back in the Swamp! My only complaint was that I didn't get Dragongly or Rolls-N-Bowls! :(
I am looking forward to the next month with lots of things to keep busy! Work is picking back up and I am staying busy packing up our apartment in anticipation for the move!

Have a great week!

The Countdown is On!

Ahh! So much has been going on over the past month! :) The Hux girls took a trip to Longboat Key and had a fabulous time! We shopped, laid out and even crashed a wedding! It was great! :) We have decided that we are going to make it a yearly trip for sure!

We are now down 2 + months of deployment and thin
gs are going great! Kyle is staying busy with his mission and Africa Partnership Station and I am staying busy with work and the building of our new house!

About 2 Weeks of Progress!

My mom, Kyle's dad and I made the trip to Jax about 2 weeks ago to see the slab. Everything is going up very quickly and we already have a roof! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

I'll be visiting Jax quite frequently while the house gets built, but I am hoping to call it my new home by the end of October! I can't wait for Macey Jane to have a back yard to run in!

Have a great week!

Time flies when you are having fun...

What can I say? I can't believe it has been a month and half since I last wrote! We've been really busy which is a really good thing! :)

We celebrated Memorial Day with the Chance's in Jacksonville! It was a bittersweet time as we knew we only had a few more days with Kyle! We ate some delicious meals, went bowling and laid out by the pool! :)
Fast forward to my birthday in June and also deployment time for Kyle! :( He has now been gone a month and we miss him dearly! However, Macey Jane and I have stayed busy with our adventures!

We went to Tampa to visit my friend Liz and her boyfriend, Sam. We had a great time at the Keith Urban concert and at my favorite brunch place, Oystercatchers! Delicious! :)
The following weekend it was off to Miami to visit my sister and Bob! My mom and I headed down on Friday afternoon and we relaxed! We washed cars, got mani/pedis, went in the pool, watched Ashley sing at church, went furniture shopping and all in all had a great time! :)

Then, it was off to Blowing Rock, NC to visit my "grandparents" (they are actually Kyle's, but we've adopted each other!) It was heavenly! The weather was beautiful and cool! I slept in every morning until at least 9 and then had my morning cup of coffee relaxed and watching the Casey Anthony trial! Grandma Chance and I made a trip to Hickory to look at furniture and that was a blast! We ate some really good meals and also had the chance to see the movie, Larry Crowne! It was really cute!

So, I am writing you now because I finally had a weekend at home! And let me say, it was good to be home! I cleaned, did laundry and organized (three of my favorite things)! I am trying to get rid of all the things we don't need so that when we move we don't have to take it with us! I also ventured to the outlets to get my watched cleaned and to do a little shopping! It was crowded, but fun! Our church installed its new pastors today and it was good to be a part of that service! All in all, Macey and I just love our cuddle time sitting in Kyle's chair watching TV! We miss him so much, but we are so proud of all of his achievements overseas!

I hope you all have a great week!

Wedding Gifts Galore!!!

After our wedding we spent a few days, well more like weeks, opening all of our wedding gifts! We were so grateful to receive so many wonderful gifts! I thought I would share one of our recent purchases that we got with our Crate & Barrel gift cards!! We have part of the furniture set, but not all; it should be in around the middle of May and I am actually awaiting the arrival and hope Kyle is still her to set it up! :)
The set is the Sloane Bar from Crate & Barrel. It's great because you can keep all three pieces together or seperate them. In our current place, we plan on putting the bar and one bookshelf together and then using the remaining bookshelf in the guest bedroom! It's such a cute set and I can't wait to find things to put on all the shelves!

I'll be heading to Jax this weekend to see the hubby and I am counting the minutes! Macey will be staying with her grandpa & grandma Chance, but hopefully she will make the trip up with me next weekend!

Have a great weekend!

Trip to the Beach!

We were fortunate enough to be able to take a little honeymoon to the beach! Thanks to our friends Chris & Shannon Carlyle for letting us stay at your condo!

We drove over on Sunday and had a great lunch on the beach! We came back, laid out in the sun and then got ready to go to my FAVORITE restaurant, The Garlic in New Smyrna Be
ach! Kyle got his usual favorite, Chicken Marsala, andI ordered one of the specials! Our favorite part of dinner was the roasted garlic with balsamic vinegar and olive oil!!! So yummy!!
On Monday, we took Macey Jane to the dog beach in New Smyrna Beach. It was her very first time at the beach and she wasn't so sure of the waves! Kyle tried his best to get her to swim and I was a very sad mommy as all of the other retrievers and labs w
ere galloping through the water and my baby wouldn't even go near!
On Tuesday, we woke up and went to breakfast and then took a nice long walk on the beach! We decided we would begin to pack up and head home since we had lots of unpacking and organizing to do back at home with all of our weddings gifts and Kyle's Navy stuff!

Right now, Kyle is up in Mayport and will check in tomorrow with his ship! Macey and I can't wait to have him back for Easter!!!

Have a great weekend!

It's Official!!!

Well, April 2nd has come and gone and we are officially Mr. & Mrs. Kyle Chance! :) I can't even begin to describe how amazing our wedding day was!!! I wouldn't change a thing and I am so anxious to get the pictures and see the video!!!

Kyle flew in Thursday night and his flight was unfortunately delayed until after midnight!! On Friday morning it was off to see the reception site and do some setup to make everything perfect! :) Kyle played golf with his groomsmen
and enjoyed the Florida sunshine!

Friday night we had a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Enzo's on theLake in Longwood. The Chance's did an amazing job putting it together and everything was just perfect!
Saturday morning we were up early to start getting ready! We had 8 girls getting their hair and makeup done, so we needed lots of time! :) The day went by fairly quick and the next thing I knew I was walking down the aisle to my groom!
The next day was bittersweet as we had to send Kyle back to Newport, RI for 4 more days of Surface Warfare School. We came home, unpacked, opened a few gifts and then it was back to the airport! I feel so bad, Kyle practically lives there now! :(

The following week went by quickly and Kyle flew back into Orlando on Friday(his flight was delayed, again) We were able to take a mini honeymoon at our friends' condo in Daytona Beach Shores, which was so awesome! More photos to come soon!! :)

Have a great weekend! :)

Ensign Kyle Chance, United States Navy

Well, the past 2 weeks have been a blur to me!! I departed for Boston to visit friends on Monday morning and then it was onto Newport on Wednesday to celebrate Kyle's graduation from Navy Officer Candidate School. Kyle's family and I were all reunited Wednesday night at about 6pm. We were able to enjoy a nice dinner at the Mooring in downtown Newport and then it was back to the hotel so that Kyle could catch up on sleep! At3:15 am, he had to head back down to the lobby to head over to the base to report at 4am. On Thursday, we met up with him to tour the base, go to the Navy Exchange and to learn more about what he has been doing for the past 3 months!!

Thursday afternoon we attended Pass in Review, where Kyle's class showed us the drill they have learned during OCS. It was quite an incredibly sight to watch them all move together so effortlessly! That night, we attended a cocktail reception at the Officer's Club to celebrate the soon-to-be ensigns!

Friday morning it was up bright and early to watch the 07-11 class take a beating from their drill instructor and watch chow hall procedures. Around 9am, graduation started and Kyle officially became an ensign! It was a wonderful experience and we are so proud of everything Kyle has accomplished!

For the past week we have been home in Orlando preparing for the wedding and spending quality time together! He heads back to Newport on Sunday for three more weeks of schooling!

Only 2 weeks until I am Mrs. Kyle Chance! :)

Our Wedding is 1 month away!!!

Well, today is March 2, 2011 and in 1 month Kyle and I will be getting married!! We are so excited for this special day and so glad that we will be able to share it with friends and family. The invitations went out a few weeks ago and we have been receiving a steady stream of RSVPs! :) My mom emails them to me everyday and I love hearing who is coming!

On Friday, I go to my second dress fitting at Priscilla of Boston! I can't wait to see my dress again and I love getting to put it back on every time I go. I feel like a princess! I am spending the next few days packing for Boston and Newport and I ma nervous that it is going to be sooo cold! I hate cold weather, so I am not looking forward to it! I leave Orlando on Monday to visit my girlfriends in Boston, then I head over to Newport on Wednesday for graduation and then I will return on Sunday, hopefully with Kyle! He could possibly go to straight to Mayport, or be able to come home and work in the Recruiter's office for a little while before he goes back to Newport, RI for SWO School.

We all can't wait to see Kyle in his uniform!

Have a great week!

Care Packages

Kyle's mom, Diane, and I had the pleasure of being able to make Kyle a care packaged when he entered Candidate Officer Phase this past week. We spent a long time making the boxes perfect and then did some baking to fill the boxes.

One of my favorite things to bake right now are Whoopie Pies. My company started making them for events and I had them at our engagement party as well. They are absolutely delicious. I made Pumpkin Whoopie Pies during the holidays and decided to make Chocolate Whoopie Pies for Kyle's "Candio" Box. I changed the recipe a bit and made it with Cream Cheese Icing instead of the Marshmallow Icing. They were delicious and Kyle told me there were still delicious, even 1 week after I made them! He is such a sweet fiance for saying everything I make is good! But, he better not be lying!

Macey getting in the boxes to try to go see her daddy!

Have a great week!
