Kaneohe Bay Snorkeling Adventure

As mentioned in my previous post, we set out on a snorkeling adventure on Saturday! It was an excursion offered by our hotel and was only $25 per person! The trip was cancelled the night before because of inclement weather, but then Saturday came and it was beautiful! So, they decided to do the trip! Normally they take a pontoon boat out and it can hold up to 25 people. But, because the trip was cancelled and there were no sign ups, we got to use a much nicer fishing boat!

We traveled out to the coral reef where we snorkeled with beautiful fish and sea turtles! The sea turtles were everywhere and so cute! There were some fish species that are not found anywhere else but Hawaii, which was very cool.

After snorkeling, we traveled to sandbar. There were quite a few boats out and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. We headed back to the hotel to head to a few house showings later that day.

Kyle did some research and found that we can rent boats from the Marine Base on Kaneohe Bay. He took an online test and tomorrow he will go do a boat test on the boat. We then can rent boats when we have family or friends visit! The boat is $100 for the day and holds up to 10 people. We are really excited to try it out in the coming weekends!

We've had a great weekend exploring the area and finding some great restaurants! There was a Whole Foods built here last year and inside there is restaurant called Windward Bar. You order at the counter and then they bring your food. We tried it out on Saturday and it was really good! We also tried Hibachi, which is not a Japanese Steakhouse, but it is a little market that sells meats and tuna poke! If you haven't had poke, it's basically the ahi tuna they put in sushi, but cut into chunks and marinated! Kyle ordered his over rice, the total bowl was $8! Such a deal! I had one bite (I am not supposed to eat raw fish because I am pregnant) and it was so yummy! I got tacos and they were delicious!

I hope you all enjoyed your day of rest for MLK Day! We have a busy week ahead and we are continuing to house hunt. We are switching hotels on Friday to be closer to town, even though we do love it here at Paradise Bay! Also, we are celebrating Kyle's big 2-8 on Thursday! I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and we are pretty excited to see Baby C and maybe find out the gender! :)
