15 Weeks and MOVING DAY!

We are finally getting settled in Hawaii and getting to know our way around! :) On Sunday, we went to the Pro Bowl! Some of our friends were in town, so it was great to see them and get to hang out at the game! It rained pretty much the entire time, but we survived in our ponchos! It was a fun experience and I'm so glad that we got to go!

Kyle went back to work and I planned for the following week coordinating our move and all that goes along with getting into a new house! I also did a little shopping for our girl! Here is her first outfit! I love the smocked outfits and bubbles too!

We spent a few afternoons at the beach with Macey Jane and she really loves it! We haven't had the best weather this week, so I tried to get outside every time the sun was out!

Tonight, we are heading to Hawaii Kai on the southeast side of the island. It's a newer area, but it is actually were the first Roy's originated! So, we are having a date night to celebrate our baby girl and moving into our new house!

I'll keep you updated on our progress throughout the weekend! Our painter is coming tomorrow and I can't wait to see the rooms transform! Our master bedroom is the brightest teal I have ever seen! (I have taken before photos)
How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  down 8 lbs
Maternity clothes: Bought 4 more bras this week. 2 sleeping and 2 sports bras! Fun fun!
Stretch marks? None
Sleep? Ehh... It's ok. We are in a different hotel now and we have 2 double beds, we tried sleeping in the same bed, but it just doesn't work. So, I sleep in one and Kyle and Macey sleep in another. I sleep with a pillow between my legs on my side. That's been the most comfy. I am looking forward to getting my body pillow in our household goods!
Miss Anything? Tuna poke! It looks so good!
Movement: After dinner last night, I definitely felt some movement. I had a grilled cheese and I think she liked it!
Food cravings? Shaved Iced! There is a place here called Island Snow! It is so refreshing, especially when it is hot out. And, I like Mexican food again! :) Kyle is happy about that!
Anything making you sick or queasy? Food is slowly becoming my friend again! :)
Gender: It's a GIRL!! :) We only had decided on a boy name, so we are definitely taking suggestions! :) I've already bought a few things! Girl stuff is SO cute!
Symptoms: Didn't think my boobs could get more sore, but they are! Haven't felt a ton of symptoms this week, just the occasional pull or tug, which may be her moving
Labor signs? Nope
Belly button in or out? In, but getting hard all around it!
Wedding rings on or off? On, still loose
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy! We have a house, we are moving out of this hotel, I get all my stuff back and we are having a girl! :)
Worst moment this week: Kyle took our car for the safety inspection for Hawaii, and my tint was too dark, so we had to pay to have it removed and have lighter tint put on! So frustrating!
Best moment this week:  Finding out we we are having a girl and coming up with beautiful nursery ideas for her!
Looking forward to: We are having the house painted on Saturday and our household goods get delivered on Tuesday! :)
Baby info: Baby is the size of avocado (4.5 inches long and 3 to 5 oz.) She can now make facial expressions and her heart pumps around 25 quarts of blood every day!

Have a great weekend!

16 Weeks!

Wow! Where does the time go! I'm 4 months pregnant today! This week has been a busy one and has definitely taken a toll on my body! With moving and working, I was exhausted and ready for bed around 7pm every night! I've been waking up with Kyle at 5:30am, so maybe that is a factor in my exhaustion too!

Throughout my pregnancy I have been really motivated to stay active for myself and for the baby. I have read that women who workout while pregnant have babies with higher IQs. No, but really, because I found out I was pregnant right as we left Jacksonville and I was no longer working I had much more time to devote to my fitness! Plus, Kyle was my motivation and trainer! :) While in Virginia Beach, I walked about 3 miles each day on the boardwalk. When I first started, I couldn't do one regular push-up, last week I did 75 regular push-ups! Talk about progress! The only exercise I can't really do anymore is ab work, it's just uncomfortable at this point.

We are officially moved in the house and things are coming together really well! I am getting used to having stairs in a house and so is Macey Jane! Our household goods were delivered on Tuesday and it poured all day! The guys were really positive until it came to our bed. My bed is my prized possession. I know that sounds crazy, but I just love it and it is kind of irreplaceable! When we were looking at places to rent, the place was pretty much out of the question if we couldn't fit our bed. So, the guys told me there was no way the bed was going to fit in the stairwell. I panicked! I knew the bed would fit in the bedroom. It was just getting it up there. Thankfully, the nursery has a balcony. So, with Kyle's help, the 4 guys lifted the 200 pound headboard over the 2nd floor balcony! I was so happy and there was no damage at all to the bed. I can't say the same about some of the rest of our furniture

The rest of the house is still coming together as we get things on the wall and find places for things! More pics to come soon!  Thankfully we have a nice attic to store all the things that won't fit! But, overall we are really happy with our new place!

On Friday, I ventured to the Ala Moana Center, which is an awesome mall in Honolulu! It made me feel a little more at home! Of course, no trip is complete without picking up something for baby C!

I also visited Kyle at his new command, Desron 31. It is definitely quite a change from the ship atmosphere! There is even a little koi pond out front! It was a Friday afternoon and most people had gone home for the day, but I'm looking forward to getting to know more of his coworkers at the Hail and Farewell soon.

I couldn't decide on a bump pics this week, so you get two! :) My goal was to wear the same thing for all of my bumpdates, but I had to retire my bathing suit top if you understand what I mean! :)

Movement: Yes, she is active after I eat or drink something sweet and she loves to hang out on the left side.

14 Weeks and Blue or Pink?!?!

Today I am 14 weeks! I definitely am starting to feel more pregnant as the days go by and my stomach is getting a little harder and bumpier every day! I had my first doctor's appointment with my new doctor yesterday! This will now be the 3rd doctor I have seen during this pregnancy, so I am definitely ready to settle down and get acclimated! The practice I am going to is an all female group of 3 doctors and 1 midwife and I have the option of seeing the same doctor my whole pregnancy, which is important to me. The last month I will rotate between doctors in case my doctor isn't available. But, I heard from the nurses that she tries to deliver all of her babies! I'll go back to the doctor in about 3 weeks after I have my anatomy scan.
Blue or Pink, what do you think?!?!

14 Weeks!

Can you guess what Kyle's vote is for?!?! ALL BOY

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  down 8 lbs
Maternity clothes: My mom and in laws have bought me a ton, but they don't officially fit yet!
Stretch marks? None
Sleep? I was definitely jetlagged, but I'm sleeping pretty well. I am an early riser and enjoying it, which I never thought was possible!
Miss Anything? Having a drink to celebrate with Kyle on his birthday and eating tuna poke!
Movement: I swear I can feel movement, but I'm not sure if its in my head! He/she loves to hang out on the left side and I feel little flutters! Every time I get an ultrasound, that is where he/she is.
Food cravings? Mango!!! Hawaii has the best fruits! But also anything sweet, I never really liked Sour Patch Kids or Gummy Bears, but now they are my go to!
Anything making you sick or queasy? Thinking about big meals, my stomach is definitely smaller than it was before. I get full really quick and once that happens, I am over food for the time being!
Gender: We could find out any day!
Symptoms: Stretching and pulling, lower back, sore boobs (I thought this went away with the 2nd trimester)
Labor signs? Nope
Belly button in or out? It is getting shallow
Wedding rings on or off? On and very, very loose!
Happy or moody most of the time? Kyle would probably say moody, but the first week here was rough with learning a new city, looking for a place to live, etc, but things are definitely going smoother this week!
Worst moment this week: Feeling rushed at my doctor's appointment because my doctor was on call and had to deliver a baby! I should be more understanding, just a little frustrating!
Best moment this week: Fingers crossed that we found a place to live! We hopefully sign the lease on Saturday and it would be a great place to bring Baby Chance home to!
Looking forward to: My ultrasound today at First Look! We might find out the gender today! Fingers crossed! And, my first prenatal massage on Saturday!
Baby info: Baby is the size of a navel orange (4.5 inches long and 2 to 3 oz.) He/she can now wiggle her fingers and toes! :) So sweet! Kyle also told me that he read that the baby now urinates!

Have a great weekend!

Kaneohe Bay Snorkeling Adventure

As mentioned in my previous post, we set out on a snorkeling adventure on Saturday! It was an excursion offered by our hotel and was only $25 per person! The trip was cancelled the night before because of inclement weather, but then Saturday came and it was beautiful! So, they decided to do the trip! Normally they take a pontoon boat out and it can hold up to 25 people. But, because the trip was cancelled and there were no sign ups, we got to use a much nicer fishing boat!
Leaving the dock at our hotel

We traveled out to the coral reef where we snorkeled with beautiful fish and sea turtles! The sea turtles were everywhere and so cute! There were some fish species that are not found anywhere else but Hawaii, which was very cool.

Sea Turtle!

After snorkeling, we traveled to sandbar. There were quite a few boats out and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. We headed back to the hotel to head to a few house showings later that day.

Kyle did some research and found that we can rent boats from the Marine Base on Kaneohe Bay. He took an online test and tomorrow he will go do a boat test on the boat. We then can rent boats when we have family or friends visit! The boat is $100 for the day and holds up to 10 people. We are really excited to try it out in the coming weekends!

Enjoying the Sand Bar in Kaneohe Bay!

We've had a great weekend exploring the area and finding some great restaurants! There was a Whole Foods built here last year and inside there is restaurant called Windward Bar. You order at the counter and then they bring your food. We tried it out on Saturday and it was really good! We also tried Hibachi, which is not a Japanese Steakhouse, but it is a little market that sells meats and tuna poke! If you haven't had poke, it's basically the ahi tuna they put in sushi, but cut into chunks and marinated! Kyle ordered his over rice, the total bowl was $8! Such a deal! I had one bite (I am not supposed to eat raw fish because I am pregnant) and it was so yummy! I got tacos and they were delicious!

I hope you all enjoyed your day of rest for MLK Day! We have a busy week ahead and we are continuing to house hunt. We are switching hotels on Friday to be closer to town, even though we do love it here at Paradise Bay! Also, we are celebrating Kyle's big 2-8 on Thursday! I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and we are pretty excited to see Baby C and maybe find out the gender! :)

Baby Chance, reporting for duty July 2014!

First and foremost, we are excited to announce our new addition arriving in July! I am sure it is not a surprise to anyone that I have been wanting to have kids! However, I outlasted all of the bets took at our wedding, which is in part because Kyle wasn't home, so getting pregnant wasn't going to happen!

As you know, Kyle arrived home from deployment on October 23 and less than a month later, I saw that little pink line! I was definitely surprised as I am a nervous, stress case and thought I will never get pregnant because I am so crazy and can't relax! The movers came to our house on November 12 to begin the pack out process. We were leaving to head to Charleston, SC on November 14 on the way to Kyle's training in Virginia Beach. Our house was completely empty and ready for our tenants to move in. I had a feeling (and had some pregnancy tests) so I took one and the line was very, very faint! Kyle didn't believe it, so we drove up the street to get a early result test and sure enough I was 3 weeks, 6 days pregnant!

Well, we arrived in Hawaii around 1:30pm on Monday and this week has been such a whirlwind and rollercoaster! We have been living out of suitcases for 2 months, so I am quite ready to settle and start nesting as they say happens in the 2nd trimester!
Leaving Orlando with our bags, Macey Jane and Baby C in tow!

Arrived on the island! Kyle's sponsor met us at the airport with beautiful leis!

We found a perfect place on Tuesday night and by Wednesday afternoon I was taking the deposit to the property manager, but then he called and said the owner had found a tenant. I was so devastated! Kyle checked into his command and that process went really well. We were concerned that he might be underway for RIMPAC, a military exercise, but thankfully his boss said that he will be able to be home for the birth! What a huge relief!

Sunrise at Kailua Beach

We have continued to look for homes all week. I have lowered my standards and become pretty desperate, but the inventory here is just SO limited! We did get on the wait list for military housing, but that could take up to a year!

We are trying to have some fun today and we are going on a snorkeling excursion! After that we have two showings for homes. So our are fingers are crossed that something will work out. The Navy will pay for our hotel for 60 days, so that is a little reassuring!

I'm looking forward to documenting my pregnancy by doing weekly "bumpdates"! :) I hope you will follow along on our journey to parenthood and raising our "keiki"!

Time flies... when your Family is COMPLETE!

It's been about 6 weeks since Kyle returned home and our schedule has been jam packed!

Kyle was home for Halloween so we had a fun time dressing up a bit and hanging out with our neighbors to pass out candy!
My monogram pumpkin!
Simply trace a stencil with carbon paper underneath and then fill in with a Sharpie, add a burlap bow and your pumpkin is complete!
Then, it was Florida-Georgia weekend and we were so happy to have all of our family in town! With some other hosts, we threw an engagement party for our friends Shannon and Mike who are getting married in February. Of course, the theme was Orange and Blue as both Mike and Shannon went to Florida!

Our last time together as a family in Jacksonville!

A few days later, it was time for Kyle to say goodbye to Sammy B, ship for the past 30 months! I have to admit I did cry a little bit! It was a bittersweet day as we became friends with many of the people on the ship!

Then, it was my turn to say goodbye to my job at Timuquana Country Club!

With my co-worker, Louise, the other special event coordinator

Celebrating at the Employee Appreciation Party

One last time filling up my water cup! :)

Then, it was time for the movers to come and pack up all of our stuff! First, we had them come and pack all of our storage items, then they came for the Hawaii shipment. Our house was a danger zone!

The movers were great!

On November 14, we said goodbye to our first home and set out for Virginia by way of Charleston, SC. We have awesome renters and we know they will take GREAT care of the house!

We visited Charleston for a few days and also Columbia for the Gator game before arriving in Virginia Beach for Kyle's month long training at the Dam Neck Base.

Dinner at Magnolia's in downtown Charleston!

Trip to the Beach- Isle of Palms, SC

UF vs. South Carolina game in Columbia, SC!

We have now been in Virginia Beach for almost a month! We head home tomorrow by way of Charleston, Savannah and Jacksonville, before arriving in Orlando! I am definitely looking forward to warming temps for sure! :)
